Our distinctions
The founder’s son Benjamin Léon Croizet took Cognac Croizet onto the world stage. Croizet’s philosophy has always been the pursuit of the finest quality which is evident from the many awards that Cognac Croizet has.
Cognac crozier was established as one of the leading Cognac producers in the late 19th Century.
Our rewards
Benjamin Léon Croizet had the idea of protecting the vineyards from phylloxera disease by replacing diseased French vines by selecting rootstock varieties from American vines, and building a stone wall to slow down the infection rate. This wall still protects the Croizet vines today long after we won the Legion of Honour for saving the cognac region from phylloxera.
For his research which made it possible to reconstitute the vineyards of the region Benjamin Léon obtained the Legion of Honor in 1883 and he decided to keep part of the harvest, in memory of this great year which marked his lifetime achievement.
About 70 years ago, the 1883 harvest was removed from the barrels and bottled. Today, Croizet still owns some of these bottles in our famous Paradis Cellar, and we use this special cognac for luxury blends. It is also where our famous World Record Cuvée Léonie 1858 Pre - Phylloxera cognac is stored under lock and key.
The philosophy of Croizet has always been the pursuit of unrivalled excellence, as evidenced by the many International awards that Cognac Croizet has obtained over two centuries.
